A message from State Rep. Vincent Pedone

Please join me tonight at Coral Seafood on Shrewsbury Street from 5:30pm to 7:30pm for a fundraiser to help get the Belmont Street School back up and running.

The Hanover Foundation has thrown down the gauntlet and challenged us to raise $50,000 and they will match it penny for penny. This is an offer we can’t pass up!

This will be a great event. There will be food, a band and a silent auction. Some great gifts have been donated for the auction. … Items include, gift certificates to great restaurants across Worcester, a year of dance at Faucher School of Dance, tickets to a show at the Hanover, a luxury box for a Globetrotter’s game, a signed Bobby Orr picture of “The Goal.” Denis Leary has donated a number of items, 2007 World Series MVP Mike Lowell signed ball, tickets to the Red Sox, Celtics, an “experience” at the Sharks to include ice-time with the team before the game. Also, memberships to the Worcester Art Museum, EcoTarium, fitness club memberships to the JCC and the YMCA and much more!

I am proud knowing how generous and caring Worcester residents and business are.

So, the food will be great (Shrewsbury Street restaurants will all bring a dish to Coral), the band will be fun (Chuck and Mud and the hole in the dam band) and the fellowship will be memorable. However, this will only be successful if you attend and bring as many people with you that you can. It is a free event (donations are welcome) and kid friendly, so bring your families.
